Bringing home a new puppy is an exciting journey, and it’s normal to have plenty of questions along the way. To help you feel confident and prepared, we’ve put together answers to the most common questions families ask us about our Shih Tzu puppies and the adoption process.
How do I reserve a Shih Tzu puppy?
You can reserve a puppy by contacting us directly. A non-refundable deposit is required to hold your puppy until they are ready to go home. Puppies are ofter reserved quickly, so we encourage you to reach out early.
What is included when I purchase a puppy?
Each puppy comes with up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, a veterinary health check, one year health guarantee, and a puppy starter pack with food and comfort items.
At what age can my puppy go home?
Our Shih Tzu puppies are ready to join their new families at around 8–10 weeks of age, depending on their development and readiness.
Do you offer a health guarantee?
Yes, we provide a one-year health guarantee against serious genetic conditions. Details are outlined in our contract, and we’re committed to ongoing support for your puppy’s lifetime.
How big will my Shih Tzu puppy get?
Shih Tzus are a toy breed and typically weigh between 9–16 pounds as adults. Size can vary depending on the puppy’s parents.
Are Shih Tzus good with children and other pets?
Yes! Shih Tzu’s are known for their gentle, affectionate nature. Our puppies are raised in a family environment and socialized with children and other pets from an early age. We do recommend monitoring around small children as puppies are delicate and fragile at their young age.
Do you ship puppies outside of Montana?
We prefer families to pick up their puppy in person, but we can discuss safe transportation options if you’re located outside Montana.
How should I prepare my home for a new Shih Tzu puppy?
We’ll provide guidance on food, supplies, and puppy-proofing your home. You’ll also receive a starter pack to make the transition easier.
Can I come visit the puppies before choosing?
Yes, we welcome scheduled visits once the puppies are old enough. Meeting the puppies and their parents is a great way to find the best match for your family.
